WORD OF MOUTH IS THE BEST MEDICINE
The foes of universal health care rely on confusion and apathy. Confusion comes with all of the industry-sponsored or ideology-driven misinformation masquerading as popular discussion of the health care issue. Apathy comes often from a sense that individual citizens can't do anything to change the situation.
One cure is to talk to just five friends, colleagues, or neighbors. If you can get five people to understand what health care for all will mean to each of us, then if each person you talk to educates five more people, we'll grow a popular movement no politician or lobbyist will be able to defy. It's the power of grassroots organizing wrapped in a simple conversation about something all of us care about.
